In the middle of the month, Martina Baier took over the position as Division Manager of myToys Purchasing. She succeeds Dr. Matthias Weidinger.
According to myToys Group, the No. 1 online retailer for family shopping in Europe, there has been a personnel change. In mid-March, the company handed over the management of the purchasing department to Martina Baier. In this position, Baier is responsible for all purchasing areas of the myToys brand. A major focus will be on the expansion of strategic partnerships and the partner program. Martina Baier reports to Dr. Oliver Lederle, Managing Director of the myToys Group. “Martina is the perfect person for this demanding position due to her many years of experience in purchasing and her passion for the task and the company. I am very much looking forward to continuing working with Martina in her new position,” says Oliver Lederle.
Martina Baier has been working for myToys since 2007
Martina Baier joined the myToys Group from C&A in 2007. The 39-year-old initially worked as a buyer in the sports/licensing area. Then she took over the department management of the “Sport”, “Fashion” and later “Baby and Furniture” product ranges at myToys. The business economist succeeds Dr. Matthias Weidinger, who is leaving the company at his own request. “Over the past five years, Matthias has decisively driven forward the development of the myToys product range, especially against the background of our marketplace strategy. We would like to express our sincere thanks for his outstanding commitment and very successful cooperation,” said Lederle. Last year, the Mytoys Group had already re-appointed some of its management positions. In August 2018, Markus Schaff took over as Head of Customer Service. In this position, the 48-year-old is responsible for the complete customer service, including the control of all service partners within the group. In May 2018 Ulrike Bold was appointed as the new Head of Human Resources.
Group sales of 617 million euros in the last financial year
It will certainly be one of the main tasks of Martina Baier and her colleagues to keep myToys on the road to success. In the 2017/18 financial year, the myToys Group, which also includes limango, mirapodo and yomonda, recorded total sales of 617 million euros. The Group is taking further steps to win customers outside Germany. Last year, for example, the myToys Group optimised order and dispatch processes for its Swiss customers. Since autumn, buyers from Switzerland have been able to pay VAT in the shop. Customs duties are completely eliminated and the company pays the fees.
